Helping the Data Governance Lead Get Ready for AI Governance
A financial institution was three months into a successful implementation of the Atlan Data Catalog. While we were not involved in that project, the Data Governance lead mentioned that the project was proceeding smoothly and they had already ingested about 20 percent of the aggregate data estate into Atlan in a matter of weeks. A separate AI team was working on a few AI use cases. However, the Data Governance team was not involved in AI Governance. The objective of the Tavro exercise was to help the Data Governance Lead plan for the onboarding of their AI Governance program into Atlan.
Tavro’s AI Agent Report for AI Governance Readiness with Atlan
The Tavro team interviewed the Data Governance Lead on their AI Governance program. We then ingested a transcript of that interview into the Tavro AI Agent. The Tavro AI Agent generated a report with the following table contents:

AI Governance Maturity Assessment
The Tavro AI Agent assessed overall AI Governance Maturity at 1.44 using the framework from my AI Governance book. Certain categories like Fairness, Reliability, and Transparency were not rated due to lack of knowledge, something that the Data Governance Lead needed to address separately.
Opportunities to Leverage Atlan
The report also included a section on opportunities to leverage Atlan AI Governance. These included the linkage between data and AI governance and formal roles for AI use cases.
Tavro AI Agent Generated Report in a Matter of Hours to Improve Stakeholder Alignment
This report helped the Data Governance Lead align with their internal stakeholders on next steps on the project. Based on previous experience, a similar report would have taken several weeks to produce. Using the Tavro agent, this report was produced in a matter of hours.
